| | Which living American will be remembered 500 years from now? | | Someone asked me this question and it's been making me think ever since. Who would I say would be remembered 500 years from now.. what american has done something worth remembering all those years from now. Would it be a scientist? A President? A movie star? A spiritual person? A computer wiz?I myself am uncertain what would be relevant to people in the future.. maybe it would be just something wonderful as a great jazz singer or maybe President John F. Kennedy... Will Bill Gates be noted as the world's genius in computer science?
What do you think??? I'm still pondering.
| | 'Dixie' | | 'Dixie' "Dixie" -- a song strongly identified with the South -- stirs emotion and exposes timeworn rifts across American society. It has been that way almost since "Dixie" was born in the days just before the Civil War. Adopted as a Confederate anthem, it was offered up by President Abraham Lincoln as a gesture of reconciliation after the war. It's accepted with affection by many whites and scorned by many blacks. And yet it's been recorded by everyone from Elvis Presley to the Robert Shaw chorale. A search for the origins of the song prompts a gentler debate, but one that touches many of the same themes. NPR's Cynthia Johnston sought to sort out the story of "Dixie" for NPR's ongoing Present at the Creation series on Morning Edition. The song that provokes such contrasting responses also has more than one version of its creation. Authorship is credited to Daniel Decatur Emmett, a native of Mount Vernon, Ohio, who was a member of a group called Bryant's Minstrels. But some believe "Dixie" was really a tune passed on to Emmett by a pair of African-American brothers born to parents who were slaves. Emmett wrote such early American standards as "Turkey in the... | |
| | More movies are produced in Bollywood than in Hollywood | | Each year, more movies are produced in India, where the moving image industry is referred to as Bollywood, than in Hollywood. About 1000 movies are released annually in India, about twice the output of Hollywood. The "B" in Bollywood refers to Bombai (renamed Mumbai).Bollywood movies often are quite long; 3 hours or more of dancing and singing around love as the main plot - although kissing is almost never shown on screen. Everyday, some 14 million Indian people queu for a movie, with more than 4 billion movie tickets sold annually, compared to 3 billion for Hollywood movies worldwide. Before Bollywood
The first movie screened publicly was "La Sortie des Ouvriers de l'Usine Lumière" which was presented by Auguste and Louis Lumiere in Paris in 1895. The first movie to use sound was "The Jazz Singer," released in 1927: the first words, spoken by Al Jolson, were: "Wait a minute, you ain't heard nothing yet."According to the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), in 1996 the average Hollywood film cost $35.3 million to make and another $17.7 million to market. Disney's "The Lion King" cost $45 million to make and employed a total of 800 animators. Bollywood flicks...
| | What is your favorite movie that Neil Diamond was in? | | I loved the Jazz Singer. Neil sang some really terrific songs in the movie? The movie soundtrack was awesome too. I got a chance to see him in concert twice. He put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. He had a lot of energy and really connected with the audience. I also loved him in Saving silverman where he potrayed himself. The two main characters were obseesed with him. It was hysterical. | |

There is a boat that can take them to safety on a nuclear fallout free deserted island where they can start a new colony to preserve human kind. The trouble is there are only places for 10 people, five people will be left behind. Which ten would you choose, starting from the most important to the least important.which five would be left behind, and why. Here are the 15 people in no particular ordermr. and mrs brown from New york city, they are a young couple, newly married and do not yet have children3. a pastor from saginauy michigan (male)4. a doctor from London England (female)5. a chemist from Shanghai, China (female)6. an engineer from Montreal, Canada (male)7. a Farmer from Israel (male)8. a hollywood actor (male)9. first five:
C:YAO
PF:Hayes
SF:Shane
SG:T-mac
PG:Rafer At the begining of the game,Jazz shooting 4 for 4...make me 8:0...but now I find YAO is irresistible..if computer ues okur defend him.OK that's 2 points...Jazz also use AK47 double team on YAO,,OK,,Shane,T-mac.3points shoot is 7 for 13.....in the first half,Rockets:Jazz is 45:40.
YAO only 8points but 4AS..
TAMC, Shane, Rafer all got 6points..But in second half,Jazz's shooting is so good....I don't know how to defend it,on left 40 seconds..Jazz:Rockets is 73:69....
In this time,T-mac stand out...a dunk and a three point...it is only left 2 seconds,,Jazz lost at last./.I wish tomorrow Rockets play as well as me..Ha-Ha.!
