| no tv, no computer, no electronics!!!!???? | | What was I thinking? It is summer break and we decide now is the time to tell all 4 kids they can't watch TV, or listen to the radio, or play playstation or computer? I must be crazy. You can't enforce that. They will whine all summer long. They will be at each others throats.
I have 4 kids ages 6 to 15. We made a decision a few weeks ago that they would not have electronic privledges. It started out as a week long grounding for all 4. It has turned in to a summer long blessing. My kids, like many siblings around the world, have some problems. 1) they don't get out of the house much 2) they don't play with each other 3) they fight all the time 4) they are constantly bored.
So why did we take away electronics? Would the games and TV and all that keep them occupied? You would think so, but what I found is just the opposite. Yeah the first week was rough to say the least. But after they saw that we were not backing down a miracle happened...They found other things to do. (you can almost hear the Hallalujah Chorus plaing in the background) Not only that, but they WANTED to go outside. Not only that but now the get UPSET if they have to come in. | | Electronics Imitations | | I just bought a new Mp3 with would you believe, with camera, with video, with games, with dictionary, with usb functions and some more. It was an imitation of an original and cost me less than $50. So far it is one imitation gadget that I am using. I should not buy it but I am just curious and it serves its purpose. | | | Free electronics - genuine or scam? | | Okay, here is the story. I would like to get myself a new computer, specifically an iMac or a macbook. However, my financial situation is such that at this point in time I am unable to afford one.I was wondering about those sites like freepay and wixawin... the general attitude to them is that they are scams but I am certain that some people actually do manage to get the electronics items that the aim for. Otherwise the sites would not remain so popular (due to bad publicity).Have you or anybody you know ever received these 'free' electronics from any of these sites. Are there any that you would recommend?Strictly speaking of course, the items are not FREE because you have to sign up for offers that cost money then refer other members who complete offers also. In general I think these sites earn at least $1000 for every $100 they spend on electronics... cynical I know but I think that would be true. | |

| | the lost isn't found but I'm happier the wonder of electronics ticketing | | Ok, my husband knew I was spazzing and he knew I was upset, and he understood why....and he was saying I can print you a ticket calm down, but I flat out told him when you put a ticket in my hand, or my ticket is found only then will I calm down.But anyway he walked in from church, and I pointed to the computer and told him to sit down and print me out a ticket which he did, but I did exactly that and when he handed me a ticket I calmed down...So while the lost isn't found, and I'm betting my kids threw it away...So I have a ticket and I'm happy, so now I'm still on t see george strait and my husband has it saved as well so if it gets lost again he can print it again.So I'm not as paranoid.....But I'm glad he could think more rationally....Moochhink that would be true. | |
