| | Into the Wild | | Has anyone seen this amazing film? What an incredible biopic. If you're in the mood to see a real movie, this is it. Hal Holbrook now holds the record of the oldest man to get a supporting actor nomination because of this movie. (He lost to Javier Bardem, but it was a good race.) | |

It was directed by Sean Penn, who also wrote the screenplay, and stars Emile Hirsch, Jena Malone, Marcia Gay Harden, Vince Vaughn, William Hurt and Catherine Keener.
It is among one of the very best movies I ever saw..Its about a guy( Christopher McCandless - played by Emile Hirsh) who leaves his home his parents his friends, Identity ..everything....At walk onto the woods into the natures beautiful hands..The story is based on a true incident and it moves through chris's journey to various places and his interesting encounters with the nature..

| | Go Speed Go! The Movie | | When I was a kid, my best friend John and I would get in from school and watch Speed Racer. It was a fun cartoon with racing, good guys and bad guys, a fun girl, a kid and of course, a monkey!
Basically, Johnny and I were addicted to this show.
Then in the 90's a group called Alpha Team made a remix LP with sound bites from Speed racer and yes, it got a little racy...nonetheless, it peaked interest in the cartoon again.
Now some of the guys that brought us the movie The Matrix have made it into a movie due to hit theaters in May, 2008. The cast includes Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, John Goodman, Susan Sarandon, etc. Matt Fox from Lost plays bad boy Racer X. Below is the link to the trailer...

| | was that leonardo dicaprio? | | That was the question I had when I saw the movie on cable only last night. I kept staring at him, and had really 2nd thoughts about it. So, now I searched for the cast and there it was confirmed that Jay Adams in the movie Lords of Dogtown was portrayed by Emile Hirsch.. but i think he does look like Leonardo.. Whether that's a complement to either of them for the other, I don't know, and I really don't care...I liked the movie! And it's amusing to learn that the real people portrayed, the Z-boys, specifically Jay, Stacy, and Tony, actually had cameo appearances in the movie. And I also got intrigued as to what happened to the real Skip. There were footnotes as to what happened to the real Z-boys but no update on Skip... | |
| | Into The Wild - Jon Krakauer | | This is the story of Chris McCandless, a young man from an affuent family who graduated with honors from Emory University in Atlanta. In April, 1992, Chris set off into the Alaska wilderness with a rifle and meager supplies to "live off the land." He headed north of Denali National Park. He was idealistic and strongly influenced by the writings of Thoreau and Tolstoy. Four months later, he was found dead by a party of moose hunters in an abandoned Fairbanks city bus. He had starved to death. Jon Krakauer traces Chris' odyssey across the west. Chris' parents had assumed their son would go to law school with majors in history and anthropology. Instead, he secretly donated his college fund to charity and left with no word. He changed his name to Alex Supertramp. He abandoned his car and took to hitchhiking. He lived off rice. He traipsed through Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington. He was liked by the people he met. He spent time in South Dakota and worked for a man named Wayne Westerberg. He befriended an 80-year-old veteran whom he tried to convert to the nomadic life. Chris kept a journal in which he wrote about himself in the third person. He saw himself as... | |
| | Justin Timberlake's Movie Date: His MOM | | Who was the lucky lady on Justin Timberlake's arm at Wednesday's Hollywood premiere of his movie ALPHA DOG? His MOM, Lynn Harless.
There was no sign of Timberlake's longtime girlfriend, Cameron Diaz, at the premiere or afterparties but Harless, 45, proved perfectly capable of keeping up with her 25-year-old son.
After the movie, in which Timberlake plays a member of a drug dealer's gang, mother and son hit the afterparty at IVAR Studios, where at one point Timberlake obliged a group of female fans by posing for a picture with them ("All of a sudden, I feel cheap," her joked).
He and Harless hung out in the venue's VIP section, chatting and taking photos with his ALPHA DOG costars until just before 11 p.m., when they headed out to the Club Social Hollywood.
There, they met up with a jeans-and-tank top-clad Scarlett Johansson, who recently filmed a video for one of Timberlake's new songs. She shared a one-on-one with him for about an hour before Harless joined in the conversation and then hit the dance floor with her son to the Jackson 5's "ABC."Later, while Timberlake hung out with some of his ALPHA DOG costars, including Emile Hirsch, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Foster and Olivia Wilde,... | |
