| My cats refuse to take over BUG Killing Patrol!! How about yours? | | I'm very sad to report that in this one way, my cats have failed me. My beloved is out of town and so I'm the one in charge of all things icky. Like killing bugs! I am fine with bugs outside but they are not allowed to cross the threshold!There was a big black beetle of some sort on the bathroom floor when I got out of the shower this morning. My cat Cleo always sits on the toilet seat and keeps me company and Delilah lays on the Rug. I long ago gave up the hopes of having any private shower time. So I open the shower door in time to see Delilah take off running full plumpy speed which is a fast trot. Huh..that's odd. Then Cleo jumps down from her perch on the toilet seat and slinks along the wall and at the threshold to the bathroom stops to look down intently. That's when I see the large ugly beetle. She backs up and backs up again and LEAPS over it and runs for her life!!Okay...I have been deserted by my faithful girls and I alone have to face and kill this beetle thing. A slipper wasn't an option so I tried Lysoling it...it just laughed and crawled closer. Then I got scared and grabbed the plunger and plungered it to death....and then had the fun of cleaning up the... | |

Do you agree with this situation?For some people they disagree with the idea so deeply.As far as I am concerned, I love the cats and dogs so much. I usually regard them as my pets. | | The Towel Method of Introducing Cats to Each Other. | | Have you guys ever heard of this? You rub one towel on the newer cat, then another towel on the older cat, then you lay the towels down for each cat to smell each others' sent, wherever they lay or you can rub the old cat's towel on the new cat after wards and vice versa. We did this with Nikki and Harvey when Harvey was new (and it WORKED great - they warmed up to each other pretty quickly. Not like, the next day, but quickly.), but I have not yet attempted it with Harvey and Toby. Toby seems to really really hate towels. I'm not sure why, as the other cats do love them. Anyway, have you guys heard of this towel method? Have you ever used it? How did it work for you? Do you have any cats that seem to hate towels? | |
| | Our indoor Cats are afraid of the SNOW and ICE coming down!! | | We had a winter storm hit us here in North Carolina and it started with Snow and freezing rain mixed in. Our poor 2 girl cats were freaked out with the pinging of the freezing rain hitting the windows. They wouldn't go near any of the windows just in case whatever was out there was trying to get them!And today, when we got up, it was to a white world of wintery beauty! Our cats are both under 4 years old and have never seen this much snow and ice! We only have had dustings to date that they have seen. That never bothered them much since they could still see grass etc. They are convinced that something evil is afoot. They finally both got brave enough to go to the sliding glass door in our living room together for moral support they peeked and stood in shocked silence. Not a whisker moved and their bodies were rigid and I could see their utter horror and disbelief! What had happened...?If cat jaws could drop, they did! Their eyes bugged out and our youngest ran away from the horrible sight of whiteness everywhere. They were not at all happy about the changes to their moving picture world otherwise known as windows! | | She feeds the stray cats at work | | Yes it is true. Were I work,at a college,there are strays around. Not sure how many but I do see some on a regular basis. Ine of the woen who works in the pantry departemnt decided to take care of the stray cats. Like around two years ago when she noticed some kittens running aound. She feeds them once a day with food scraps from the left over food,like scrambled eggs,sausages,hamburger and even throws in a little dry cat food in the mix. She even traped most of the strays and had them fixed! Two were sick one time and she took them home and took care of them. THose 2 cats became house cats! The strays are so well fed they have big tummy's and aren't doing alot of mousing anymore! Somedays they wait to be fed outside by the dumpsters where she feeds them! My co-worker did a good thing but went a little overboard with the feeding! | |
| | Cats and dogs | | So, you know I have a lot of cats and a few dogs.Some of our cats are friendlier than others, and most of them have never known not having the dogs around.Still, some of our cats like the dogs better than others.The roomie and I were standing in the kitchen, waiting for the water to warm up for hot tea and Rygel was walking around making worried noises.Don't know why he was making worried noises, he just does sometimes, maybe it was too cold for him.So, he'd rub my legs, rub the roomie's legs and then rub on Cujo, my little brown dog. Cujo backed up.Rygel would come back do the roomie, then mine and then back to the roomie and then Cujo again.Poor Cujo, he's not impressed with the cats. Considering that he's just a little bigger than our biggest cat, Booboo, it could be considered understandable...We finally got Rygel to jump up and leave Cujo alone.Now, Zoe is the biggest dog and she will try to mount some of the cats, and they will tolerate it or not depending on the cat.Taj is Zoe's kitten, she gave him his first bath after he joined the household. Taj likes Zoe.Rygel likes Zoe too, not as much, but he's okay with her.Booboo... | |
| | Are cats really scared of water? | | Well are cats really scared of water because my friends cat just loves to get wet with water it doesn't mind it all. Still other cats do run away from the water, but why are they so scared of it. Dogs like water I think well they like it more than cats. My birdies also love water they love to take baths in it they just can't get enough of it. So why are cats so afraid of water is it just in their nature to be scared of water. Cats clean themselves by licking their fur, but that to me is not very clean. I guess all cats will never like water like my friends cat. Maybe it can be something that tells them in their brain to stay away from water so that is why they don't go near it. Dogs I know love the water because maybe something in their brain tells them that the water will not hurt them. Still I remember I was going to wash this one dog as soon as I turned on the water it ran away. Maybe dogs and cats don't like water very much because they don't like to get soaked in it.
What do you all think are cats really scared of water and why is it that their scared of water???? | |
