| How do you do your laundry? | | Do you go to a laundry mat? Do you have a washer and dryer at home? or do you do it the old fashioned way and wash them in a sink or tub at home? the laundry mat is getting pretty expensive for me. I live in a small apartment complex and we dont have a washer or dryer. I washed my laundry today in the sink and hung them to dry. it was much cheaper since the landlord pays the water bill. lol. what do you do?? | |
| | Laundry Time | | Some people might think this is a stupid question. But, I was wondering when other people liked to do their laundry? I like to do mine in the morning. When I worked every day of the week, I would do it after work because our laundry room didn't open until 7AM. | |
| | A new trend I'm seeing in books. | | I seem to be finding a new trend in books. There are more and more Middle Eastern themed books, even fiction, that are coming out and often authors from those countries. A perfect example of 2 recent books I read and really enjoyed are The Attack, by Yasmina Khadra and House of Sand and Fog (actually an older Oprah Book Club book) by Andre Dubus III.
The Attack is a story of a doctor and his wife, both very 'westernized' and moved back to Irael. The doctor has no clue his wife has become involved in the Jihad and becomes a suicide bomber, killing a large amount of people, many children, in a local restaurant not far from his work. He is completely taken aback by the news that the suicide bomber is his wife, someone who used to share his thoughts on these idiotic ways to deal with the current situations and kill so many needlessly. The story is compelling and also enlightening as it shows a bit of the inside of how these people think and why they feel like they do. Even the doctor finds that he can somehow sympathize with the same people he considers his wife's brain washers and eventual murderers. Have you read any of these type of books recently? What were they?

| Does your washer smell? | | I usually wash laundry on the weekends. I rarely do them on week days. So my washer sits all week not used. The little bit of water that sits in there all week starts to smell musky after a few days.
Do you know any way to stop this from happening? I thought about using a spot of bleach in the bottom, but figure I would dump dark clothes in there and not remember, so I do not want to do that, and besides, the bleach is about as bad as the moldy smell.
