Electronic Toys Discussions
electronic toys
Do you think Electronic Toys will totally replace traditional toys?
do you think electronic toys are too loud?
Most toys nowadays are electronic. Some have two buttons for the volume, and I think even the quieter one is too loud. Honestly do they think our kids are deaf? Some things are ok but I've found that most of them are much too loud. What do you think? I konw it has stopped me from buying some toys. You think its cute until you start pressing buttons and then the obnoxious sound follows you as you run out of the aisle!
iPhone
The iPhone looks really intriguing and with all its features, if I had one I would probably not have time to be on myLot because I will be playing with it all day! Price is quite steep though, so for me it may just be a dream. How about you? Do you see yourself getting an iPhone?
Is Tamagotchi's Trendy Dead? Which Tamagotchi Do You Had?
Some years ago Tamagotchi were a great trendy came from japan. In Italy too a lot of persons owned a Tamagotchi. Me too I'd a couple of them with a dinosaur and a pet to grow up. Right now It's been a lot of time I don't see a Tamagotchi in Italy. Are they dead? In your country is it still a trendy? I think in japan they still use them. I want to find those Tamagotchi I had and start again to play it:p
Do you have a Tamagotchi??
At school they seem to becoming more and more popular! I got one last year as a present! The batteries have to be replaced often, but its a cute little pet. But, when my brother had his first "Baby Tamagotchi" he left it in his room and it died. His heart was crushed and later it was mended due to the rebirth of another Tamagotchi!! The cycle of life!
A Day Late And A Dollar Short!!!
all my life i've always missed out on things brought on by new technology simply because of the time i was born. when i was a kid, we had what we thought were some pretty cool toys, but they all required some type of manual manipulation and a lot of imagination.as soon as i became too old for toys, the next generation of kids got all the REALLY cool whirling, beeping, buzzing, transforming, flashing, electronic toys!.......but i was too old to play.........until i had kids anyways(having children is a "playing with toys loophole")so now i'm almost 47 years old and i'm fascinated with up and coming science and technology. i'm watching a show on The Science Channel right now and they're talking about the first manned space flight to Mars.they plan to start the actual training aspect of the mission by sending people back to The Moon in the year2020.i'll be 57 by then!!!the actual trip to Mars probably won't take place for another 10 years.now i'm 67!!!so while i'll at least probably get to see people land on Mars which is only ONE PLANET AWAY FROM OUR OWN, i'll probably miss out on all the cool technological things that are...
Are classic toys headed for the trash bin?
toys of decades ago are now marching right into the halls of museum. in their stead are sophisticated, energy driven electronic toys. Monopoly, turning 70 years old this year, is seldom played by kids these days. so is Scrabble, now 60 years old. they now have online versions that excites adults more. Trivial Pursuits marked 25 years also with a digital version online. at least Lego blocks are still around after half a century. the revered POGO-stick and stilts are hardly seen today. the worry is that in their place, will the toys be more interactive and educational but not given to a lot of imagination?will the newer crop of toy render children chair-bound and less-physical? are classic toys headed for the trash bin?
Expensive toys and commercial hype
Do you fall for wanting to buy the most expensive, well known toys for your child - with all the bells and whistles? I know, since my little one likes to help me in the kitchen and love my nieces play kitchen - I really want a Step2 kitchen for him! With all the bells and whistles and a Handy Mandy work bench.I love the array of toys out these days they have and try to choose ones that encourage development and imagination - with the minimum of bells and whistles so he can figure out things, use his imagination - I believe its not otys but interaction/participation of parents that are most important. When they can be afforded. I think we should remember though, before we fall for the hype (half to late for me) that we need to get these very expensive toys that drain their batteries quickly, that there were many genuises, artists and other great contributers to society born in times when toys were few or they were too poor to have them...and al the electronic toys they have nowadays were nonexistant once upon a time. I think we need to remember that encouraging imagination and using your mind doesn't take a lot of toys or expensive toys. I encourage things like Melissa and...
Inside or Out?
A fourth grader in San Diego said this about how he liked to relax: “I like to play indoors better, ’cause that’s where all the electrical outlets are.” Apparently more and more US children and no doubt their counterparts in Europe and the rest of the world where there is easy and relatively cheap access to computers, TVs etc; are spending their time cooped up indoors. When I was a boy my mother liked us out of the house from breakfast to lunch and then on until tea time. Do we molly coddle our children? Are we terrified by media stories of crimes against children to the point that we'd sooner have them "plugged in" at home, than running free in the garden or fields? Of course we adults are just as wired to our electronic toys. But I do find it interesting that the Wii Fit game is taken seriously by some as a means of exercise.
why kids and youth today are careless and very disorganized
a large number of today children and youth lost all kinds of good manners, are very insensitive to others, particularly to their parents, their rooms is a mess, dirty socks are everywhere and dirty underwear seen by the whole visitors who come in the house.. their toys are all broken.... when I was a child I had a big respect for older people, teachers, authorites of all kind... did not have to be punished or threatened to obey.. that the way it was... parents were getting toys they had to be well maintained, put in place, and no other toys if they were misused.. room had to be clean without even considering arguing... My kids who are definetely not the best... are Stars and heroes compared to what I see nowadays, and compared to their classmates what happened to the world?.. kids don't say good morning, don't knock on doors before entering, I feel like an old man who is not satisfied and talk about the old time, I am not old (I hope) what are the reasons.. in my opnion these are the main reasons, media, peer pressure, working mothers, broken families, spoiled kids with too many toys and continuous up to date electronic toys,it is also our psychologist who by encouraging kids...
